Hi guys, today I am need your superior knowledge to help me decide on what would give me the most performance boost for around 200-300 dollars. I was considering upgrading my RAM to 2400MHz Kingston HyperX Beast 4x4 16Gbs, but then I realized that my motherboard doesn't support 2400 MHz then that means I would need to get a different motherboard, but I also don't know if I want to invest on another AM3+ Motherboard because i also was considering switching to intel.... Then I realized that I could maybe get another 770 and that would almost double my gaming performance! Then i thought about it and remembered everyone telling everyone that 1 single extremely powerful gpu is better than 2 normally powerful gpus because of all the issues and the futureproofness. I don't know what to do.... Lord jeebus help me. BTW its my birthday :3 ( Thats where i got the money.)

wow, thats a lot of bees!

Upgrading your ram won't give much if any performance increase.

Is your current performance unsatisfactory?

The RAM wouldn't be a huge improvement unless you're editing or something like that.

I'd say either a newer CPU, or another 770. Probably the graphics card.

There's no such thing as futureproof ;)

Well it would be nice if I could play BF4 on ultra with 60+ fps at all times without dips in the 40s, and recording even just Minecraft takes a big hit on performance. My average BF4 FPS on Ultra is 54 FPS, my average Minecraft FPS is anywhere from 180-1000, but when recording I get dropped in the 50s which for me is hard to record anything youtube worthy.

wow, thats a lot of bees!

You have a green case so maybe green led's and another monitor if that monitor is not to expensive

Would it be worth it to get a 4770k? How much different will the gaming performance be than the 4670k?

Right now, not much.

Unless you can get one for a really good price I'd just go with a 4670k.

That's strange--at least for recording Minecraft gameplay. What's your cpu usage when recording?

Probably not. There's little to no difference.

It doesn't seem to go above 44% but when I oc'ed it to 4.2 my recording fps went to 58, but I started crashing when I played battlefield, so i put it back down to 4.0

Have you tried raising your voltage to get the oc stable?

That^^^^^^

New CPU or another GPU for a bigger performance increase. GPU will give you the most in games, CPU won't give you that much.  SLI is fine these days, so is xfire from what i've heard to.

I raised it one notch but no higher than that. Should I try it or will it melt my stuff? :3

What do you mean by 'one notch'?

You seem like you are an official person that knows things, so magical genie will you tell me if i need to buy a new motherboard to sli? or does my motherboard support sli ? (Google won't tell me)

The holy gigabyte page has enlightened me:

Seems only to support Crossfire.

BTW, can you stop sniping tacos, I quite like them.

EDIT - NO YOUR BOARD DOESN'T SUPPORT SLI.
You can however run two nVidia cards if they are not linked in SLI ( if you wanted to use one card as your main graphics card and a second one as a PhysX card)

Thanks! So that means I would have to get another board to get another 770, which means I would spend another 100-200 bucks on something that would just be replaced when I get a new CPU.... I don't know what to do :(

The board doesn't support sli.

I raised it to the next step up in the biosything

You're going to have to be more detailed.

Save up a bit more and buy them all at once? Spend it all on games? I mean, your system is a strong build.  Upgrading isn't always the best option. Maybe just sit on it for a week and the moment will pass.  Worked with me when I felt like upgrading with only so much money.  Then, when haswell refresh comes, you might be able to warrant it, or maybe you'll just keep saving and be able to buy a better CPU/Mobo/GPU combo.

Ok, I went into my bios to make sure I knew somewhat what I was talking about. Ok, before i touched anything, it was at 1.2875 in the volty thing. So what i did was went to the next step up which is 1.3125 voltything which is what it is at right now :)

Try to stay under ~1.4-1.45v, watch your temps, and you should be fine.
