Add GitHub Category to Contact Methods

I know I can just put it in "Other" category however, I feel like a Github account should be on the list, considering that there are less popular contact methods as options.Screenshot2023-05-0412_32_09PM.thumb.png.5ceb88372ecfc2e314e3a786638237b3.png

Other than heatware, which is used for classifieds, all the others there are pretty mainstream. What's wrong with putting it in other?

I already have something in the other category. I feel like it would be crowded to put two links in it. I guess I just don't think it would take that much time to add it. (I mean, I'm only asking for such a small thing because I think it wouldn't take that long. But only because I don't want to waste your time)

Maybe make it so the user can define their own category? Maybe you could change the "other" category to "custom" and when you go to edit your links, you can click the "custom" category, and edit the word "custom" and be able to make it whatever you want. In addition, there might be a button at the bottom of the link pop-up, that lets you add more custom categories. This (in my opinion) would be the best approach because it future proofs any other suggestions on this matter.

Imo the whole list should change. It could be such where you could add what you need from dropdown. Then it would be much easier to add new items to that dropdown.

I agree, also I think it would be an improvement if the drop-down didn't necessarily have the title of "Contact Methods" in the first place. I'd like to see it be able to be user-defined. As well as the ability to add more categories. For example: you might want to change it to / add a projects category, and provide the titles of your projects where the type of contact method is. With links to pictures of each project as where you would normally put your account name.

Thats taking it to level of what free text boxes are for. Or what other features of the forums, where you can link to, are for. Majority of the members aren't developers or modders so this would again serve the small portition. Whereas just having more fluid contact method (or maybe named to something like "Socials") would still serve all.

Do we have free textboxes on the side panel of our profile page?

The "Other" field will be for any contact methods you would like to list that doesn't have its own dedicated category. I'm not opposed to adding a github section if there's interest in it.

I would recommend using the About Me field for things that are not defined on the profile contact methods or biography section. You can also attach images to the About Me section, meaning you can upload the google drive image that you currently are linking to in your Other field.

Not there per say. Not in that way like About Me is. But there are Occupation, Biography and Hobbies. Which are for longer texts.

The about me section appears lower on the profile page. Could you add an ability to order the....whats the word.....the um...the text box thingies on the side of your profile page? Or maybe the ability to pin a free text field to the top of your profile page, so that people can create their own categories of information they want on their profile pages with minimal dev effort? That would result in more profile information displayed in the same area, therefore being more effective.
