hopefully they can reach i7 levels of single core performance and slap twice as many cores on a single chip. I might consider upgrading from my 2600 for that in a couple of years.

So much win for AMD if this goes well, maybe some competition for intel?

this is very very interesting :D hope they succed and it drives the price of chips down finally... 2014 and still atleast 500€ for a good 6core...

Still a few years off at the earliest. I'm thinking of making a new pc next year so I will probably go intel.

But it's great news to hear AMD is making something from scratch. Can't wait to see what they come up with.
