A horse can jump 6 times farther, horizontally, than a lion can. The difference between the distances they can jump is 10 m. How far can each animal jump?

6x - x = 10 
5x = 10 
x = 2 

The lion can jump 2m and the horse can jump 6(2) = 12m.

1 horse=6 lion

6 lion - 1 lion =5 lion

5 lion = 10m

lion=2m

2x6=12

 

lion=2m

horse= 12m

You need to make two equations then use substitution. 

x=horse

y=lion

 

x=6y

x=y+10

Its never I'm stuck help me. Seriously people don't even try, wait until you get to college/university and have to do math see how all that laziness pays off.

Yeah, people don't do stuff, then need other people to do it for them because they have no idea. Same goes for when people try and don't succeed so they tell everyone they just, "weren't trying."
