Hey guys:

I'm currently looking around for a new MMO to play. I used to love MMO's like ToonTown as a kid, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to replicate the fun I had in that game (logging on and leveling up your Gags with friends literally was the best time of my life, to be honest). But, I am going to try to find one that is similar.

I don't even know what MMO's are slightly popular now of days (other than ESO, but I really don't find it that interesting).

Any suggestions?

Eve online is a pretty good MMO. It is however quiet hard to get into and requires a bit off resilience in the first few months. Also it isn't super kind to casual players haha. But if you like complex and rewarding PVP, PVE, Economic gameplay, its a definite must try in my books.

CPU: i5-4670k GPU: Asus DirectCUII TOP V2 MOBO: AsRock z87m EXTREME4 RAM: 8gb Gskill 1600mhz  CASE: Corsair Air 540 SSD: OCZ Agility 3 120gb HDD: 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm

Cooling: CPU- H100i push/pull 4x Noctua 120mm fans,

                GPU - H90 push/pull 2x Noctua 140mm fans + NZXT G10 Kraken bracket

I enjoy Guild Wars 2, and I generally hear pretty good things about Rift and Lord of the Rings Online. And with the latter two, there's no box cost, so it's free to try.

Wildstar seems interesting, but when it eventually comes out I think it'll have a sub fee, so it's up to you whether you like that or not.

Archeage is currently filling the gap for people who aren't interested in ESO and Wildstar. I'm currently enjoying it a lot and haven't been this addicted to an MMO since WoW was released.

Flip side is it's currently in Alpha, and you have to either get an invite or pay for the Founder's Pack. But, I think the Beta will start in a month or so?

I signed up for Beta, if I like the beta, I might buy one of the 3 Founder Ranks... It seems like it would be a really fun game, I guess I'll just have to wait and find out.

I downloaded Rift and completed the first few quests- seems like an interesting game. I'll have to check out Guild Wars 2 later though.

Eve seems a bit too intense for me right now. I'm not that Hardcore, especially with Finals coming in the next 3 weeks. Maybe over the summer I'll no life the heck out of the game. I'll see how things go.

Archeage is the most compelling option right now.  In the end ESO and Wildstar are just WoW clones with updated graphics and more action based combat.  The sandbox aspect of Archeage is really interesting as well as the sheer amount of stuff you can do, reminds me of Mabinogi in a sense.

World of Warcraft. Here are a few reasons to try it:

1. There is nearly a decades worth of content to enjoy

2. Very large player base

3. Runs on very basic systems, while still having a distinct style that it still looks good on high end machines.

4. It is a fun game, especially when you start making friends and joining raid groups.

As fun as it seems, is it worth the $150 to get Alpha access? :P

I'll have to try this out for sure.

WoW hands down. I own Guild Wars 2 myself, I've played the wildstar beta a few times, I've played Tera and other basic MMO's out there

WoW is still the king. Wildstar may have some great features, but I don't like sci-fi MMO's

Archeage seems really good though, but I won't be switching any time soon.

.......
Final Fantasy XIV
.......or Guild wars 2.
I cant say much for Archage, i haven't tried yet it but ESO and Wildstar were boring for me, you could always try Ragnarok or Mabinogi if your ok with something "anime ish" or sprite like rather then Fancy 3D.
To lazy to bother remembering any other MMMORPG right now.

If you like free to play-throw-alot-of-money-at-the-screen-for-nothing-special game then: Cosmic Break takes the crown....

I've played Tera, GW2, Wildstar, WoW and Eve. So far my favorites are Tera and Wildstar. WoW just feels very childish to me. I'm really getting into Wildstar and I'll probably end up buying it.

AMD FX 8350, ASUS Sabertooth 990fx R2.0, Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4x4GB 1866, PNY GTX780, Corsair HX850, Phantom 630, Samsung 120GB SSD, WD Black 2TB HDD

Rest in peace, legend.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, Gigabyte RTX 3070, 32GB RAM, 4TB Samsung SSD, and a crippling depression that causes me to buy games and not play them lol

The only other mmo I had fun with besides World of Warcraft is Guild Wars 2. I tried Rift, Lord of the Rings Online, Neverwinter, Requiem Bloodymare, 4Story and many others but I did not enjoyed them very much.

I played SWTOR in beta and I enjoyed it but it was only few hours ago I can't tell much about how good it is. You may wait for Wildstar however. I tried beta recently and it was good.
