Travel-friendly windows laptop for video editing

Hey everyone -

 

I’m a freelance video producer and need to buy a laptop that allows me to edit on-site for quick turnarounds. Currently edit on a desktop system with a Ryzen 7 3700x and a 3070.

 

Looking for a windows machine with a light enough weight to not be a huge burden for travel but has the power to handle 4k editing when needed. I know I’m describing a mac here but I’d prefer a windows laptop. 
 

Budget is 1500 but I can kick it up to 2000 if it’s mandatory.

Take a look at ASUS' ProArt laptops.  They're specifically designed for things like video editing.  I've only seen one in person, but it was quite nice.  The built-in dial is cool. Also, ASUS is serious about their ProArt line. It's not just branding and buzzwords.  They start right around your budget and have had both Intel and AMD machines in the past.  If budget is a serious concern, you might see if some store (or ASUS direct) has least year's models on sale.
