Clicking reactions

Mesure73Loafs

Multiple times I have clicked on a reaction and instead of adding it (which I expected to happen) it showed me a list of other people who have reacted with it. I think that having to hover over the react button is a bit confusing. Maybe there could be another way to implement seeing who reacted with something (maybe a right-click menu or a separate button?) Or maybe at least have an add reaction button in the menu?

Designs that could work (not final designs, I'm a bit lazy right now):

Isnt it like; click icon = add reaction This statement is erroneous (i checked).
                 click number = see reactions?

Need to click the react button to add reaction, clicking on reactions that are there willk always result in list with amount of reactions.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

You click the button all the way to the right to add a reaction. Clicking on existing reactions doesn't add you to the number of people who have given that reaction to that post.

Why add more clicks and convolution to the system?

It's not which I thought it was too, clicking on the agree check (in this case) or the number brings up the same screen for me.

You are correct. I edited my previous post.

Logically it would be nice if it was how i thought it was.
But seeing its not that big of an area to click on it might be even more confusing.

I think that would be a possible thing they could implement, where the location of where you click matters.

Agreed, yah. Although clicking the heart just reacts with the like (on PC at least) whereas hovering over it brings up the menu. I suspect that's not the case on mobile though.

On mobile, tapping the heart pops up the same menu hovering does on desktop. Then you tap the reaction you want to give.

It seems intuitive enough to me, but then again I remember phpbb 2's heyday. 🤷‍♂️
