Gigabyte Aorus SATA Express port

I have an Gigabyte Aorus  z270x mother and there are only 5 sata port and i want to increase the stoarge ..need help

Well, there are 2 options i can think of, replace drives with larger drives, or if you need to increase the number drives, buy a used LSI SAS PCIe add in card.

I have already used 5 sata ports with normal 1tb HDD and there are 3 more ports like SATA i dont know what port is that look like mini sata or sata express which is not L type..what kind of cable i can use there to add normal HDD?? kindly help me on that  i am little confused

according to the marketing material there's 6 sata ports, they are all paired into 3 "sata express" connectors (that's the little extra bit to the side of each pair) but that's a standard that's pretty much dead.

 

having that said, if your approach to storage is adding more (small) hard drives each time the last one is full, this is basicly a recipe for losing data

I’d say upgrade to larger drives is your best option.

 

SATAe is a dead feature.

Could i able to use this cable to connect normal 3.5 HDD?? This is SATA to eSATA straight cable

I’m not 100% certain on my answer. we’re talking about a dead standard that basically no one ever used.

 

however, other people who have asked this question online typically got the answer “no, this doesn’t work”.

 

(although I don’t know what the cables for if that’s the case)
