This is only 3g so sad, samll phone with recent android. It says 2020, so why did thay not add 4G? Anyway, I guess we could get 1 to download the Nettalk app to, the reg. way it goes out sometimes. We tried shutting of the firewall, port forawding & know have it plugged in before the router, still goes out sometimes. Any good VoIP services around the same price?

It runs a version of Android from 2017 so I think it's a stretch to call that "recent."

Is your beef with Amazon for selling an old device or with BLU for not updating the device with 4G?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Lack of 4G is the least of your worries with that phone. It is also an extreme budget phone, I am not sure what you are expecting here.

Apparently he thinks if a third party wants to sell old stuff through an Amazon storefront and give Amazon a cut of the proceeds Amazon should tell them no.

Just because 3G is no longer available in the US doesn't mean it's available in other countries. I'm sure someone, somewhere, has use of that phone still.

Wait, US has killed 3g???? Damn

Yeah? In 2021 and 2022, 3G was offlined by all major carriers. Only corporate customers still had access until 2022, and then that was shut off as well. My program had to retrofit 4G transceivers to all of our mobile units, because the provider was going to offline it here. Was expensive, and stupid.

Ok, not mad at Amazon. BLU is annoying, 2020 I mean add 4g, atleast if you sell it in the US.

Its a leftover phone.

Basically a bunch of old crappy parts that were basically landfill bought super cheap to make a budget phone for a niche market.

Fun fact: The Pixel 4A has a larger display (though a slightly smaller body) than the original 2011 Galaxy Note, which was described as "gargantuan" in reviews at the time.

The Overton Window on phone size has shifted a lot.

That is wild, I look at my pixel and compare it to my wifes 7 pro and my phone seems absolutely tiny.

This actually makes the Pixel 4A harder to use in some respects, because the area you have to try to reach with a thumb is larger.

Not an issue for me personally but I do feel for small handed people.

My personal phone is a Pixel 4a, and I have an iPhone 11 for work. The Pixel has an Otterbox Commuter case on it, and it's almost exactly the same width and height (but half the thickness) of the iPhone. For me, that's about the perfect size.

I still use an old iPhone 4S as an alarm clock, and that thing feels like a child's toy in comparison to either one.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
