Odyssey Neo G8, Lines on Blue/Orange when running at 240hz

Go to solution Solved by Stahlmann,

Like @BetteBalterZen said it's a well known issue with Samsungs 240Hz monitors. If you set the monitor to a lower refresh rate it should be gone completely.

Awesome thanks! Hopefully there is a monitor out there to let my 4090 stretch its legs (without scanlines) lol

Afaik there are no other 4K 240Hz options on the market right now.

You can either get the Odyssey Neo G7, which only goes to 165Hz but is the same monitor other than that. (and doesn't have scan line issues)

Or go with a 42" 4K 120Hz OLED like the LG C2. These have even better picture quality and offer a very immersive experience for less money than both the Neo G7 and Neo G8.

I have this strange issue of white/lighter lines appearing on some blues and oranges. This is only an issue at 240hz on all color modes except sRGB which also solves the issue but makes the colors of the monitor look quite bad.

Anyone else have an issue like this or know of any fix?

Scan lines. Happens on mostly all newer Samsung monitors with 240Hz. Nothing you can do about it. Try go to google and search "samsung scan lines issue 240 hz", then you have things to read all night.

I own the Odyssey G9 and the older one CRG9. CRG9 does not have scan line issue but it is also only a 120Hz monitor. My G9 have the issue. It started with Samsungs monitors when they went 240Hz.

I tried updating my G9 to the latest firmware; did nothing.

Do you have any suggestions on 4k 240hz monitors that would work well as a replacement?

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Allright thanks, I'll see if i can get the monitor I bought replaced with the G7, 42" I think is sadly just too large for my current setup, thanks for the info!

Just wanted to update, I got my Neo Odyssey G7, the same issue exists at 165hz although it seems less noticeable, probably wouldn't see it if i wasn't already looking for it
