6800XT or 6950XT

defensie

Hey, question. Im going to buy a new PC soon, and I am still deciding which GPU to get.

I am having trouble deciding between the 6800xt and 6950xt, because the 6950xt is 160€extra.

Im going to pair it with a 5700x and want to play 1440p.

Its about 10-15% faster. So if you think 160 is worth it, go for it

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

What would you recommend? I mean, I could buy the 6950xt but is it worth it, generally looking if I want to play 1440p at 100 Ish fps

Its up to you and games that you will be playing at1440p. Higher card means higher settings and more FPS. If that is important, then go for it. I had a similar dilemma just a few weeks ago and I decided to spend little extra to get more performance. Its was 3090 over 3080. Definitely worth it for me. So if you can afford it, just pull the trigger. It will be better this way rather than getting 6800xt and then thinking to yourself "Dam, if I had spend that much more I would've had better FPS right now"

6950xt if you don’t plan to upgrade to an NVIDIA 4000 or AMD 7000 series within the next 3 years.

Alright, and do you think the 5700x is enough for it? because otherwise i'd also have to spend 150€ extra on a 5800x3d, so itll be 300 extra in total

5700x will be suffiecient. I'm running very GPU bound on 6900xt with 5800x and that's in 1080p. Ryzen 5000 is stronk

Depends on what games you plan to play. Some games you will see just 10-15% difference at best. In others the 6950 outputs basically double the frames of the 6800.
