Cooler Master Jetflo 120

Go to solution Solved by CM Norumu,

Maybe @CM Norumu can help and let you know if it is defective or not and if not how to fix it?

You summoned me?

So has anyone here used the Cooler Master Jetflo 120's? I had just got one of them today and installed it as the rear exhaust on my Cooler Master HAF X. The fan moves tons of air but the only question I have is, has anyone else installed one of these as an exhaust on their case? Mine has the type of hum that sounds like its from the motor that is transferring to the case and amplifying the sound of the fan. I'm not sure if it is normal for this fan or if it is defective? Also it doesn't matter what speed the fan is at, the vibration sound is present at every speed.

The JetFlos aren't known for being quiet. With that said, it's hard to directly determine the nature of the noise you're hearing. I'd test the fan not mounted to the panel and see if the noise is similar coming from it. I do not recommend holding the fan in your hand when it's on. That blade moves extremely fast, so be careful.

If this "hum" you described persists, then it's just the noise of the fan. If the fan is obviously vibrating when not mounted to that panel, then it could be an issue with the fan in which I'd recommend replacement (Contact support here). If neither, then it's probably an issue with how it was mounted on the exhaust panel, so try re-mounting it and making sure it's secure :)

They are average fans. Not bad but also not the best.

They arnt really high quality fans, so yeah you can expect them to hum and make noise,if the sound bothers you, you will have to change them for better silent optimised fans like the noiseblocker PL-2's.

Actually, I'd argue that the JetFlos are very high quality fans in terms of raw performance; however, like all Cooler Master fans, they're intolerably noisy, so it's difficult to say based on the description whether it's the fan's natural sound signature, poor mounting, or a defective fan.

Yeah I think I have determined it is not the fan. It seems that the frequency that the fan operates at just is making something in my case vibrate because it does not make the sound when it is not mounted to anything. Now the fun begins of tearing apart the system to find out what is vibrating since it is nothing that is obvious.

Thank you for all the help!
