what should cpu should i get

specs

i5 10400 

rtx 3080 12 gb

32gb ram 3200mhz

z590 msi torpedo

looking to upgrade don't know what to get cause im pretty sure my 3080 is being bottlelnecked by 50%

10900K, and a better cooler if your current one isn't prepared to cool it.

 

You can get one used for $300 pretty easily.

my temps on my i5 are about 63 under 100% load

How did you come up with 50%?

 

Upgrade to a 10600k/10700k or even the 10900k as suggested.   They will all be more balanced.  What resolution are you playing in?

well while playing spiderman remasterd my useage on my gpu was at 46% while only getting 80fps max at 1080p
