Audio feels like it's always left speaker "heavy"

Birblover12

I got gifted a pair of Edifier R1202T Speakers, and they sound amazing, though I found that the speakers sound or feel like the left speaker has significantly more "meat". Meaning, when playing a song, it sounds like the majority of the audio is coming through the left speaker. The right speaker is most definitely working, just maybe not as much as the left?

What could I potentially do to remedy this? Is this just a natural thing?

Keep in mind that I am sometimes wrong, so please correct me if you believe this is the case!

Make sure that the angle and distance between you and the speaker is equal for both speakers.

If one speaker is closer to you than the other it can cause issues like this.

If one speaker is at a different angle (towards you) than the other that can cause such issues as well.

It's a possibility that it's your hearing that's a problem. This can be determined by switching speaker around.

But as Vishera advised check speaker angle and distance first,

Do you have a subwoofer? Ik mine will cause phase interferance issues if it's not in the middle pointing directly towards me.

Nope, just the two speakers.

Simple problems have simple solutions, in your windows audio settings you can rebalance so that the right is louder

I had something like that happen with my speakers, i even went and did a hearing test and the test was good.

At the end the issue was a faulty power switch on the right speaker which i fixed.

Funnily enough I thought my speakers were doing something similar. Turns out one of the panning features within Voicemeeter software had accidentally been clicked to the left speaker. (I almost always have voicemeeter open in the background and must have accidentally clicked the panning while trying to grab another window)

Double check all panning options, and if after trying all other recommended troubleshooting steps the pan is still unbalanced.. try panning the audio a bit to the right until it does sound balanced. I know it's not the best solution but would work for now until you had a chance to dig deeper into if it's something faulty with the speakers themselves.

If you ever suspect your hearing as the problem, just turn around so you have the loudspeakers behind you.

Its also a good idea to just try the speakers out individually and compare their sound profile, because sometimes the woofer fails or has a lower volume than the other. Its quite rare, but it happens.

I had similar issue where the right speaker is noticeably worse. Apparently my I got the speaker polarity wrong.

Yes, I realize you can plug + of the amplifier into - of speaker plug. They will work just fine, but the sound will be much worse.
