10 year old psu supports 4080?

Hay all,

 

I currently have a Corsair ax850 gold power supply. 

 

I've had this psu for 10years now and never had a problem.

 

I currently run i5-10600k and a 3080ti

3x nvme 2xssd

 

im looking to get 4080 and i5-13600k

Would it be worth me getting a newer psu?

That is quite an old PSU.

 

While it may support it, I'm not sure I'd run it personally, or even recommend it.

At 10 years old, I'd replace it.

Even if you've never had a problem with it, that's normal, until you eventually do, and a card that power hungry will likely expose any flaws that have formed.

I expect the AX850 to shut down with a 4080 like a lot of Seasonic made PSUs do with recent high end GPUs.

It's a good Tier A PSU, it'll work until it die from old age but this won't damage anything

I wouldn't use a PSU that's out of warranty in a system I cared about.
