HDD just runs 50%

Since a few days my Hard drive keeps running at a max speed of 50%(its never more), and Hdds arent fast anyway so you can imagine how slow my system boots, my pc needs 10 seconds to open audio mixer!

is there anything that makes my HDD run 100% again

where do you see that your hdd is running that slow? probably you have to get a new one make a backup as fast as possible!

it does it since i put in my new one as a 2nd HDD in my laptop, task manager tells me nad everything keeps lagging a bit

thats just how windows shows it. i dont think it is accurate by any means. probably just HDD is being old and slow. would recommend SSD + HDD combo if u have the money

a harddrive can ususally not spin slower than specified and still operate... your harddrive is not spinning half speed i think, you must have another problem there, what is your specs and how old are all the drives and what configuration are they in?

still we are just trying to help if you want further help tell us more specs, like other hdds you are using and what config they are in and no your hdd is not running at 50% speed

Another hdd increases internal temps and if bad ventilation is in effect then you go a problem on cpu/gpu throttling.

hmm i doubt that in idle two laptop hdds produce that much heat

Still check cpu and hdd temps

Into the Bios, and unable Performance Mode, because i think you're at Silent/Eco Mode, it happened to me once

-when at Silent or Eco Mode it ramps the RPM of the Drive Downs slowing it Down

i was a little wrong, its because 100% in task mngr stand for 1.HDD+2.HDD. But i feel a little bit lagging, just things like audio mixer take longer etc but since i cleanedm y laptop i have 2timeso f the fps before

your thing is not clear, whats ur OS? and how do you even see Storage usage in Windows task manager???

if you go on more details on task manager! I got Windows 8 (8.0)

That has nothing to do with how fast your HDD is. That  is just saying how much load there is on the drive.

 

If that's how you understand it, you might say your computer is at 1-5% speed when idling 0.o

but since adding 2nd HDD it sometimes feels a bit slow, just a bit, loading times are as before but expecially when i start the pc first on desktop it feels a bit laggy

Are you sure that's not how its always been? Sometimes your perception of slow changes.

yes a bit, but i will get a SSD in the next months i want to get HyperX 512GB SSD (which is to expensive but i like the high quality of their products) for the laptop, so i dont care that much about it

Mine is the total opposite. It runs at 100% at idle. I checked and saw that "System" was causing this. Tried to find a solution but until now, it's not fixed.

Did you see which process was using it?

I think it's about the load. Mine always goes up and down. Maybe it's slow because your motherboard is reading both of the drives at the same time to find your file.
