Are these temps fine for an i7 9700k?

Go to solution Solved by SkilledRebuilds,

I personally wouldn't worry about it, you are still sub 85*c in 28*c ambient, which for my little Australian brain, is pretty good compared to other parts of the world.

Many newer game engines (inc ports) can use 4-8 threads,... it doesn't mean anything is wrong that you are getting high CPU usages in various PC titles / PC ports with an 8Core/8Thread CPU.

I am playing Uncharted 4 on a 3060 ti and an i7 9700k with 32gb of ram and the i7 has been revving up more than some other games, are these temps fine? I made sure the shader cache was completed before loading the game. The i7 is being cooled by a Noctua U12s Chromax at stock with ram at 3600 mhz, with Asus MCE disabled on the motherboard and vccio and vcsaa below 1.2v

P.S: It is 28c inside my room according to my thermostat.

Are you just starting out? I mean just launched the game and played for the first time after install?

If yes, the game is building shader with the CPU, which is why the CPU usage is so high, after 45 mins, why 12400 was running as usual, like 20-40%.

Well, I left the game to finished installing shaders while it was on the main menu. I only began playing after the shader cache was completed, so it shouldn’t have so much cpu usage right?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
