2x Raid 0 with 2 sn850x M2 drives on X670E?

Hi guys!

I have just bought a new Ryzen 7600x with a Asus x670e plus mobo!

After installing all components I have just get an offer for 2x sn850x 2TB drives for its M2 slots (i use a KC3000 1TB for Windows 11 and programs).

I intended to use this 2 new nmves drives for games.

Should I installed in RAID 0 or its not worthy?

I have red that it increases latency and its not worthy the increase in speed!

In case its worthy I guess I have to use the option of NVME raid in asus bios no?

Games barelt even properly use a sata drive to its max potential. A single sn850 is so much faster than needed already dont bother with raid 0 and its downsides

Not worth it unless you want to merge into a single drive. But yes, NVMe raid in BIOS then AMD Raidexpert will appear in BIOS enter there and create array if you wish.

I dont mind to merge them and have only one “unit” it that will give me more speeds and benefits! 
so finally it would be worthy!?

Well for me having 4 itty bitty 1tb ssd it is worth it. I have 3 volumes instead of 5. Downside is that m.2_1 which is linked directly to CPU has the same latency as m.2_2 but can't really say I notice. Is faster than a spinny drive... so all good I say lol.

Interesting.  2x sata ssd on RAID are 25-30% faster than a single.

 

Based on Ark load times, tested on same server and mod loads 

 

I'll be doing raid0 all day every day for my game libraries, as I also prefer 1 drive for steam than multiple.

no.  RAID 0 on NVME drives is a waste.  Don't do it.  

 

buy 1 larger drive.

Not surprising:

SATA SSDs are still "slow enough" that more speed can be beneficial.

NVME is not.  They're already fast enough that the CPU can't deal with the data being offloaded.

No link.  Just timing load times with Ark and a server I owned.  Saw a 25-30% reduction in load times after adding a 2nd 860 for RAID 0.  

 

But as @tkitch mentions, if NVMe already saturates the CPU... I was hoping that striping would allow the CPU to process 2 threads of data instead of 1 and experience a benefit.
