5 similar LG monitors - which one should I choose?

Filingo

Hello!

I'm having hard times choosing between these 5 of which some are in sale. But I'm just not sure if those that are in sale are the worse ones and I should avoid them:

  1. LG 27GP850-B

  2. LG 27GL850-B

  3. LG 27GL83A-B

  4. LG 27GP83B-B

  5. LG 27GN800-B

What is your recommendation? Currently the 3 cheapest 27GN800-B @ $227, followed by the 27GL83A-B @ $ 249.99, then the 27GL850-B @ $269.99

I am not from the US so the awesome HP/Dell deals aren't available to me. But maybe you can help me find other monitors similar to these ones (and at same price range instead) and I can check if Amazon ships to me.

Thanks!

Not really what you are looking for in an answer but take the one that has the ports and features you want or may need in the future.

alright that's actually important I didn't even check as I assumed they all should have at least HDMI and DisplayPort, but I remember seeing that on HDMI the refresh rate support is different between the monitors so I will need to check as well

thank you

Explain to us the advantages and disadvantages of each and we might be able to give you an answer ...

They are really similar so I thought someone here might know better or someone actually has experience with them 😅

L is older version than P, you should ignore L. Also ignore LG 27GN800-B as that model is the worst in among them.

LG 27GP850-B is quite identical as LG 27GP83B-B. Just get the one the most cheaper as I doubt those very little differences will impact to usage. But if both similar price, then get the LG 27GP83B-B, from rtings.com review, the LG 27GP83B-B is the best. https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/lg-27gp83b-b-vs-lg-27gp850-b/24342/24452?usage=3623&threshold=0.10

Below is some common LG labelling meaning.

- later alphabet means much newer version. In this case P is newer than L as after L just appear P in ABC order.

- XXX00 series is always cheaper version of XXX50series.

- XXX3X series wise is a slightly improvement of XXX50 series.

- the last alphabet means color. -B is Black, -W is White.

Thanks for the awesome explanation, and of course the 2 best models you mentioned are "out of stock" (I just think they don't want to make a sale on them), and then I'm left with 27GN800-B, 27GL83A-B and the 27GL850-B. How is the 27GL83A-B, being the predecessor to the currently best 27GP83B-B?

Would you recommend other brands/models that I can look for maybe in local store and not Amazon/eBay over these LGs?

Do you have any preferences between the two?

As usual as I mentioned before XXX3X series is a slightly update version of XXX50 series and it is always better than it slightly. For this two, GL83A will be a better version than GL850 series.
