Gifts for people into hiking?

So my aunt and cousin (male) have gotten really into hiking over the past couple of years, and I'm a little at a loss for Christmas gift ideas.

Anyone here a hiker? I have some ideas, but my version of hiking is a little less extreme than theirs.

Ideas:

• inflatable cushion for my aunt
• knife for my cousin
• Lifestraws

I thought of getting my cousin a Camelback but there's doubts he'd actually wear it.

I'd involve them. Otherwise you waste money on something they already have, don't want, or wanted something specific.

 

Depends on how well you know hiking and what they like. But imagine you are a computer guru, and your relative who knows nothing buts you some outdated and useles to you motherboard

They're extremely good tents. I have two (one two-man I bought in 2008 and one one-man I bought last year). They're expensive AF, but they will last you pretty much forever. Mate of mine who's a polar explorer by profession (been to Greenland and Antarctica multiple times) reco'd them to me. Worth every penny. Even my 2008 one is still in fantastic shape; I only bought the one-man tent last year because I wanted something ultra light for solo hiking trips.

 

 But yeah, kinda pricey.

My first thought goes to things like multitools, it has the knife of course, but a ton of other stuff that is very handy. Also for when you're not hiking. Leatherman is 1 of the best, if not the best, and they got a ton of different ones in different price classes.

Socks. No one says no to an extra pair or two of socks. And they are useful outside of hiking as well.

 

Especially if they are Darn Tough.
