Running 2 rtx 3070s

I have been looking into running 2 rtx 3070s running 2 2560x1440p monitors. Assuming I use an Intel i7 12th gen, what would I need to know? Would it work how I think it will and one gpu runs one monitor or maybe something crazy happens. I'm unsure and super curious.

I don’t think there’s really any reason to have 2 3070s in a system because they don’t support sli, you’d be better off just taking the money you would’ve spent getting the two cards and get one card that’s better.

for some productivity tasks, it may be useful. for gaming, no point in doing it. even for productivity tasks you could use both in, you would probably be better off with just 1 better card anyway.

You don't need two GPU's to run two monitors.

Yes i know this. But would one gpu running one monitor do better than 1 GPU running 2 monitors?

No.

Yes you might see MAYBE 1% of the gpu being uses less. But the cpu load, driver overhead,.... will all take that slightly less gpu load performance gain away very vert quickly.

If you are that worried about performance just sel your 3070 and get a better gpu instead of wasting money on a second card that wont fix anything or do anything
