So I just watched Frankie's new video (Arma 3 Battle Royal) which is him showing the new Battle Royale game mode where you parachute out of a C 130 with other players and you start w nothing and have to find guns and kill all the other people to win. Kind of like a Hunger Games gamemode. Then I saw there is the Altis Life game mode which I still dont quite get but as I understand its a cops n robbers gamemode. I wont be getting ARMA for the singleplayer if I get it heck I wont even touch the SP. Can you tell me some other cool game mdoes especially some pvp ones where you already start out with a gun?(as i have dayz sa but am tired of that)

Is ARMA 3 overall worth it? But then again this game only uses 1 core I heard and from my DayZ experience this will run like total sh*t on my 8350

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

Runs like total shit on my 8350 as well. Runs worse than DayZ standalone and Arma 2.

Arma 3 is multi threaded and most of the time it with be GPU bottleneck

arma 3 is hard to run  because the nature of the game its self

anyways  do u like realism/sim ?

Buy it on sale. I have had a decent bit of fun on custom racing maps and stuff so I'd say it was the worth the $30 I got it for in the alpha. I am not a fan of the roleplaying and sim stuff.

Well, DayZ works on ARMA 3 as well, so you've got that too. I'd say it's worth it for all the mods, but not for just ARMA 3 itself.

And DayZ runs like crap on near enough everything xD Same with the standalone. I get 25 FPS in cities, it sucks.

yeah its probably worth it if thats what you like, its equal to crysis 3 as far as demanding goes, ignore anyone that says its single threaded, i have screenshots showing otherwise, i can run on ultra at 1080p with an oc 7850 but very high does make ti better.

overclocking will still net some results though, if you can get to 4.2-4.4 id call it a day and get gaming.

One thing I've heard is arma 3 likes fast ram and a good OC

the missions are a good learning step, arma is alot more involved then a normal game.

also its more like a canvas that other people make things on

check out armaholic

edit: and ontop of that Head tracking :D

Its all about those volumetric clouds

you dont usually overclock with a program but in this case download amd overdrive and prime 95.

it may be a cas whe're you might aswell undervolt your cpu, stock from amd they're anywhere from 1.2-1.3v but i've heard of people being able to undervolt them and run them stable at 1.1 saving power and lowering temps while still keeping the same performance,

just go into bios set it to 1.275v core, boot and stress test with prime 95 small fft for an hour if it passes try 1.25v and so on until it fails and tehn bump the voltage up a previous notch and do some gaming to see if its really stable, effectively just see "how low can you go"..

If you look at frankies video and like it, don't buy it. It's a bit more "hardcore" when you actually get into it. Prepare to die, over and over and over until about 60+ hours if you haven't played the campaign. Mods are what keep it alive though.  Not the best engine either so it will run slow on shit system. I think ARMA 3 still runs a bit off the CPU so you need a good overall system to play it. If you loved ARMA 2 and 1 and Armed assault + like trouble shooting and stuffing around a lot with mods, then it's the game for you. It's learning curve is damn near vertical.

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

ya i have it already and im surprised it doesnt run as bad as dayz sa occassionally the spikes are pretty bad but for the most part its playable. played some wasteland was owning people left and right lol. but ye there is much more to the game especially with the altis life game mode. what pissess me off is that all the battle royale(new hunger games mod) servers are locked :(

runs great on my 8350, arma 3 for me is a lot of fun especially with the breaking point mod which is pretty much a better version of standalone dayz. but much like anything arma or dayz related you need a group of people to play with for it to be really fun.
