GTX 680m into m17xr3?

So, I have an old (obviously) m17xr3 that was gifted to me last year.  I was able to upgrade the cpu to the highest it can support.

I read for the graphics card, people were able to install the 680m card. Just need a modded BIOS or something...

I've seen posts of several people claiming it works...  I found a card for cheap and am trying to get it to work, but without success.

Every link sending me to the 'how to' or 'proper files' are all dead.

Does anyone know what I need to do?    Either all knowledge has been erased, or I don't know how to search properly

PLEASE HELP

Did you get an official dell/alienware 680m? Otherwise it will not work.

Also keep in mind that a 680m is a very very low end card and modern gaming will not happen on it.

I keep seeing posts in other forums that its possible with a modded bios/driver.  It's been done.

I found a cheap (price) 680m card and wanted to bump my laptop's abilities a bit.

Of course, modern gaming won't happen on it. It's a 12 year old machine, lol. But, it would be plenty to run NWN2
