MSI Z270 PC Mate. What processor can I upgrade to for windows 11?  Will any LGA1151 processor work? 

 

My current processor is Intel 7700k 4.2ghz

Officially, none as that board does not support Coffee Lake being a 200 series chipset. You can use Rufus to create a Windows 11 USB that bypasses the system requirement checks. But of course if you go that route, support will be hit or miss.

You canjust trick 11 to work on your system. It's just a simple regedit.

Stick with Windows 10 until you get Windows 12 on your next nice new PC. Windows 10 support end at 2025.
