This could be pretty interesting, scientist are trying to develop glowing plants in a bid to remove street lights.

 

I'd like to see that :)

In order to light the road it must be extremely bright not just slightly glow in the dark though, unless they just want to replace cats-eyes  which would be pointless.

 

Could be funny if it was edible... dangerous for animals if it isn't

Well its definitley possible, it just remain to be seen if it will be done and inplemented, i really like the idea of using it as bio lighting wherever possible.

Oh Stanford, awesome as always.  Speaking as a Biology major, engineering bioluminescent plants isn't all that difficult; the trick is getting the plants to produce enough light to be useful.   It's a fresh idea to 'go green,' I could definitely get behind this project!
