Go to solution Solved by Bismut,

I'd clone the HDD onto the SSD and then use the HDD as a slower storage drive. Keep it as is for a while in case the SSD breaks within the first week or so (Bathtub curve), but it should be fine after that.

i just got a 500gb ssd and i dont know what to do first all i know is i  can clone my 500gb hard drive to my ssd and thats it do i have to do anything else

I will find your Laptop thread and I will recommend an ITX build instead

To add onto this after cloning and seeing it boot disconnect the hdd to see if it works fine.

Ive had clones behave strangely from time to time and if the original drive is gone they refused to boot

Just meant I had to clone again then
