Is my 10700k Still Strong enough for future games or should i upgrade to the 12700k ?

10700K is more than enough for 1440p/60Hz.  

 

The 12700K adds E cores for more background-ish tasks.  You don't get much else for features.  Good info from yesterday...

You will be fine for a few more years, easily. 8700k are still “fine”.

Agreed. It took playing Division 2 at 4K high with a 3090 to actually max my CPU

hub just did an updated cpu benchmark, spider man's pretty crazy on the cpu

 

 

TLDW almost everything's fine for 60fps, doesnt really matter til above 120fps

I'm in the same boat with my 9900k. Its enough, but i wouldn't want to keep it for more years. Worried it wont even handle the next COD. Which will be the decider if I upgrade asap or not.

Which rig is your 9900K in?  What GPU paired?  OC'd?  Mine at 5.1 all core seems like it'll do well for another 2-3 years.  I'd still be using my 8700K if Microcenter hadn't had such a good sale.

Its running with a 3090. Its slightly oc'ed. Seems like a poor chip as I dont care much about running it at high voltage and sitting around 75c just to game. My 8700k didnt handle the 1080ti. Need headroom to stream or record.

even on max oc the 9900k isn't enough to handle the 3080ti (i'm just forcing atm), probably gonna be looking around -40% bottleneck with large dips when it's the 4090, i don't wanna swap, but i might have to.

Interesting, as I thought the pairing of the 8700k at 5GHz and the 1080Ti at 1440p UW was a good one.  The 9900K pushes a few more frames in the same games now.

I'm at 1080p. Which the 1080ti struggle to push frames with given the poor game patches.
