Also, how likely is it that there will be BIOS compatibility issues?

Yeah, I’m gonna buy around Black Friday so yeah.

Looks good. I doubt it. Box for motherboard should say Ryzen 5000 series ready. if it doesn't you should be able to update it just fine.

Budget (including currency): ~1500 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: VR Gaming, a bit of CAD and programming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6gVHpH

just wanted to put this list on here to make sure I’m not screwing up majorly before buying parts. Opinions?

Recommend these changes. Definitely go for a M.2 NVME SSD, and double RAM (for not that much more). B550 motherboard as well.

Might want to wait for the next gen Ryzen to drop, it's literally around the corner.

Current gen Ryzens will definitely drop their prices, could get better CPU or just get a better GPU.

Also, about the windows keys, you could get cheaper keys somewhere else, can't tell you where but they're definitely not hard to find.

I wouldn't put links like that here since they're in the gray area in terms of legality, which violates the rule in this forum.

Plenty of sources.

Almost any motherboard you buy new will come with the latest BIOS, you’re good.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.
