SATA ports not working

Hi,

I have a problem with some SATA ports not working. I am running quite an old machine: i7-2600 in an Intel DH67GD motherboard. There are a total of 6 SATA ports present, 2x 6Gbps, 2x 3Gbps and 2x eSATA. Populated are the two 6Gbps ports.

 

The problem I have is with the 3Gbps ports (and eSATA but I do not really care about those). When I plug another drive or even the drives that are normally in the 6Gbps ports, they just do not show up in disk management, HWiNFO or BIOS. I made sure all the ports are enabled in BIOS, I know that the drives which I am trying to connect to the ports are working, tried different SATA cables and PSU cables. Every combination of drive and cable works in the 6Gbps ports.

 

I looked for possible solution everywhere, tried previously mentioned solutions but with no luck. I have to clarify that I do not necessarily need the other drive, I was just looking for possible future upgrades.

Edit: No, there are no M.2 ports on the motherboard.

TL;DR: the chipset is probably an early stepping and has a physical issue.

You should be able to find a PCIe SATA card if you need extra ports.
