Should I get a rtx 3060 or a radeon rx 6600 xt?

Noisyxd31

Hello, not so long i asked you guys about upgrading my pc, you said that my specs are enough. But i've been thinking if the radeon rx 6600 xt should be a better option over the 3060... I've seen benchmarks comparing the 3060 and the 6600, in some games the 6600 xt had more average FPS, less overheating... I currently have a ryzen 5 3600, which people told me that it's enough to play with a 3060 and i won't have a lot of bottleneck problems. But getting back to the main discussion. What should i get a 3060 or a 6600 xt?

It's a toss up between the two honestly. Your best bet is to look at the reviews, and pick the one that does better in the games you play. There isn't a clear winner here. Personally I'd try and get a used card if you're in that price bracket, you'll get way more bang for your buck.

Cheapest RX6600XT on Newegg right now: $330

Cheapest RTX 3060 on Newegg right now: $369

If you have no need for Nvidia specific tech like CUDA, the choice is pretty clear. DLSS? AMD cards have RSR and FSR. At this tier of card, ray tracing really shouldn't be that important to you.

Now if streaming is important to you, the AMD encoder isn't as far off of NVENC as it used to be but still something you want to take into account. This may have some helpful information.

Full disclosure, I own a 3090 and RX6600 system. I don't care about brands, only price to performance.

Unless you really want DLSS, I'd opt for the 6600 XT between those two options.
