Accidentally turned off surge protector

mrsnickerdoodle

I accidentally turned off my surge protector by hitting the button with my foot while my gaming pc was turned on so I turned it back on and everything was fine but as I was moving the surge protector farther away to prevent this from happening again I did the exact same thing again so I again, turned it back on and everything was still fine. I'm just wondering if this causes any damage to the internal parts in my pc such as the gpu or any other important components.

Most components nowadays have discharge protection so you probably won't damage anything unless you're doing a BIOS update. The real problem comes with Windows writing data when it powers off, especially if it's making changes to the OS itself. You might find your OS not booting at some point if it powers down at the wrong time.

Your computer will not physically be effected by power loss , as stated above if windows was writing data at the time theres a chance that data could become corrupted but otherwise should be just fine.

Thank you. Just to clarify, this shouldn’t affect pc performance in any way right?
