Kinda makes sense to not go DP 2.0. There are NO GPUs with that connector on the market atm. So literally no one could use it.

I mean they're all close to release kinda, not like you couldn't use older cable until.

oled would be better yeah. the reason there isnt too many super high refresh rate monitors like 360hz, 500hz, or even higher. is because the response time of lcd can barely keep up, oled would completely get rid of that problem since it has close to 0ms response time. a 500hz oled would look amazing because of its better colors and response time. However its price would probably be insane.

Yeah I know it's pricey, but still first QD OLED monitors we know are not even priced that bad, especially when you compare it to top high end LCD which cost literally twice! So insane and waste really.

a good tn panel will look close to ips in terms of colors. however poorly tuned tn panels do look pretty bad.

This as well, bad colors on TN is a complete myth from ages long past. Asus PG278Q for is famous for good colors.

Online shooters, especially competitive, and especially esports, and especially CSGO, Valorant, Quake are already running at 500-700FPS and these monitors are a godsend. As :

1. It would have always been a 24" and 1080p, no matter what type of monitor (this is non-negotiable)

2. It would have always been the lowest graphic settings (so GPU is not as important, more like a minimally viable product)

2. As this is a main gaming monitor, side-viewing angles are irrelevant

3. The above games and all battle royale as well are usually over-saturated on purpose to enhance pattern recognition, so while a decent color reproduction is nice, anything great in general, or great out of the box is a waste and counter-productive, as the user will intentionally ruin the color reproduction.

4. It's not clear if these will supplant the current Esport kings (Benq EX2510 and Viewsonix XG2431), but that reasons are not the 144-240-500Hz as I mentioned before, but all the other factors (especially Gsync as it doesn't meshe nicely with adjustability and ULMB potential). 500Hz a godsend, just again as soon as someone releases an additional tweaked version of the panels if the panels end up being good on secondary metrics. And it's either a more open-source like situation and not as locked-in by Nvidia, or if Nvidia collaborates with the the top Esports people to adjust the monitors, or enable more adjustment.
