No Internet Connection after Changing Hard Drive?

JudithWright

I wanted to install Windows 10 on an HDD, so I removed the NVME m.2 SSD that was installed and connected the HDD alone. Then, I installed Windows 10 on the HDD.

But when I did this, all internet connections stopped working (ethernet cable and USB WiFi Antenna).

Strangely, I even installed Linux Mint 20.3 to see if this was some sort of software issue in Windows 10. But, even in Linux, the PC could not identify any internet connection.

For comparison purposes, I tried re-installing the original m.2 SSD - and now the PC connects to the internet just fine.

What could be causing this?

Specs:

CPU: Intel i3-12100F

Motherboard: AsRock H610M-HDV/M.2

did you bother installing any drivers that the system requires?

I installed the WiFi driver with a USB stick, but it changed nothing

well you should definitely install ALL of the drivers that the board requires to function otherwise windows is going to have a tough time using any of the hardware with no software
