should i swap my monitor for an identical AOC refurb?

Hi,

 

speakers on my monitor are broken, AOC AG352UCG6, and i dont use the speakers anyway.

 

Anyway, i have used the monitor for almost 3 years straight and i can get it replaced under warranty. likely they will replace it with a refurb or something.

 

Now, my monitor works (as much as i need it to). display is all fine and everything. the new monitor may end up possibly developing a fault sooner than this one? Who knows how it was treated pre refurb? I mean i guess its probably still been used less than my current monitor though. its also effort to un wall mount my current monitor replace it, then re-wall mount.

 

What do you guys think i should do? Should i swap my basically working 3 year constant use monitor for a possible refurb but likely newer than my current monitor?

 

The warranty is close to being out so if a further fault develops in either of them its spending £££ time.

New monitor with less total screen on time may last longer though?

that's up to u to decide, u know how ur monitor works, whether or not the one they send you works is a diceroll.

 

my gpu fan broke, after doing some research i woulda gotten a refurb 2080ti or a 3070 after paying a triple deposit (if it was a 3070), and there were endless horror stories for the refurbs.

If they swap it with a Refurb, that depends on how the Refund/warranty policy works.

 

if your warranty is almost over, and you can get a Refurb for FREE, then go with the refurb, it might last 2 years, it might last less. Anything is often better than nothing

 

Last time I claimed warranty on a Monitor, { it was lost/delayed in transit with 4 weeks} Thus I had gotten a FULL refund, and just bought a new display. [Same series, slightly different model [adjustable feet/height, instead of single height] with as reason, that that one was cheaper, and not sold by a reseller that uses the same platform to sell their display's]
