Can I move my m.2 to a different slot?

I was wondering if it’s okay to move a m.2 ssd to a different slot with that same specs also will this move affect the data on the drive and will I have to reformat it in windows and no this is not my boot drive

You can move to any port as long as it's supported. (Ie a gen 4 drive in a gen 4 slot for example). You don't have to format or anything like that. You wont loose your data. M.2 drives work just like any other drive.

The only thing you might have to do is go into Disk Management and reassign the drive letter, but in theory, if Windows is working correctly, it'll recognize the drive and re-assign the letter automatically.
