Wireless headset for single player gaming/music/movies?

hiimFred

As the title suggests I don't care about listening to footsteps and having gimmicky 7.1 surround. I care about single player games like RDR2, Witcher, Deus Ex etc. I also enjoy good music and movies sound quality, mostly listening to classic Heavy Metal, Punnk, 90s Hiphop, Synthwave etc.. That also means I don't want that extra overboosted "bass".

Do you have any suggestions for good value products? 50-200. Much appreciated!

Im using the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro at home. By far the best sounding headphones I have had, and I have some that cost a lot more as well. They are quite comfortable as well.

They are a bit demanding, so I also recommend a headphone amp or a good sound card to get the most out of them

If you want me to answer, please use the quote function or tag me. I dont get notified unless you do

Thanks for the reply! They do seem interesting but I'm looking for a wireless headset (that means also having a mic)!

I wanted something cheap for commuting, I went with Edifier w800bt and have fallen in love with them for movies when the wife is asleep. Whatever you get, make sure that it has aptx low latency if you go with bluetooth. Without it, the sync between screen action and sound can be jarring.

I know you're looking for wireless, but I'm going to throw this out there anyways.

I've bought a handful of wireless gaming headsets over the last couple of years trying to find some holy grail that works for everything. There's been issues with every one, from either only supporting Playstation or Xbox, to sound quality, poor battery life, etc. I found a headset I like for watching TV/movies, but it doesn't work with my consoles. I've found ones that work with consoles, but don't sound great or are uncomfortable.

I finally just gave up on the whole idea and started using wired, and it's been infinitely better for gaming purposes. You never have to worry about charging them. You just plug and go. It works with everything, and I was able to find a set I liked with great sound for $50.

In short, I might recommend getting a good Bluetooth pair of headphones for movies and such, but when it comes to gaming, just go wired.

I got the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 for Xbox from the manufacturer website for a pretty good deal because they're refurbished.  And it's a really good headset when paired with an xbox wireless adapter.  However it's still by nature a wireless gaming headset which will always have pitfalls.  Since it's a gaming headset it's tuned primarily for gaming so it falls behind for other things like music and media consumption.  Don't get me wrong, it still sounds good but I have far better and more expensive experiences available to me so I know better.  Also the wireless solution has occasional hitches, not a deal breaker but it's a reality you have to accept.  Like @Chris Prattsaid it's very difficult to get something that does everything when you're talking gaming headsets and esp wireless gaming headsets.

I would recommend something like this shp9600 combo or something similar and forget about "gaming" and wireless
