Any GPU's on Newegg I can get near MSRP that also aren't too too much.

So, I'm going to build a pc for a friend (because I'm nice) and whenever the gpu is added to the price total, it skyrockets up. I was planning to get a 1070/80 for him since a 1650 isn't much better, and a 1660/super is too much, but a 1650 is the only thing that is relatively cheap. So I was wondering if there were any decently cheap, but still actually capable cards for gaming at medium/high on Newegg. (I'll get it used because even at insane scalper prices, it's still "used.")

Unfortunately you aren't going to find gpus near msrp basically anywhere.

Should probably just pick out a pre-built system for your friend, really the only way to not pay 2x to 3x the price for a GPU.

keep an eye on amazon warehouse deals, somewhat overlooked by the scalpers. found a number of open box cards for msrp, occasionally less.

I got 2 cards using the Newegg Shuffle. I did it for 3 months. Got one in the first month and one on the last.

 

The cards were at MSRP and had no other products attached.

You can get prebuilds if you will build a whole system as long as they have off the shelf parts unlike dell and hp

 

Gamersnexus did a review on that linus did it too but it has been a while

Not really true, anymore, unfortunately. OEMs and SIs have gotten hip to it and are basically charging scalper prices for the GPUs in their systems now.

2023 is when TSMCs new fab in Arizona is supposed to open and 2024 for Samsung, then those chips need to make it through the supply chain from board partners like MSI and EVGA. so I think mid-late 2024. 

 

I remember when they said this would be resolved by the beginning of 2021
