SATA cable that came in with the powersupply doesn't fit HDD

HDD should only fit a Molex or that SATA cable, so push a bit more but it shouldn't be a bitch to connect.  Pic of the HDD?


Are you asking if things are fine with just those cables connected?  Yeah, PSU doesn't care what ones are connected or not, it'll supply power to whatever is plugged into it.

Hi guys,

 

First time pc builder here. It seems that my sata power connector doesn't smoothly

fit in the hdd. Should I force it? Also, is it fine that I only have the 24pin and cpu cables

plugged in the power supply? Sorry for the quality in the pics

That connector for the HDD is directional. Try rotating the connector on the cable 180 degrees.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I don't think that's a reason to be embarrassed. Everyone does stuff like that from time to time 😉

F@H sprint, I took out a fan blade on a 1070 trying to push cables out of the way to set another GPU under it.

That's true... i remember i didn't make any mistakes - except the front connectors the hdd led wasn't connected right,  but that didn't stop the pc from functioning thankfully (just no hdd led lol) but yeah, sooo many cables and no place to put them , half of them were just dangling around in the case lol... took 8 hours,  I had to take breaks... oof...

Now I can pretty much dismantle and rebuild the whole thing in 1 1/2 hours, but still, the cables are a nightmare,  either way too long or too short, especially the SATA power cables,  thanks corsair! 🥳 👽 🐄
