Multiple PTZ stream setup, general question.

Hello, I'm helping a business set up a 2 camera stream. I had them working well over ethernet. Until yesterday one of them randomly dropped out. 

 

 

The cameras have Rs232 Jack's (the circular ones) they are nicer cameras some BRZ gear.. would we be better off just daisy chaining them into the controller that way instead of Ethernet? I do experience some lag when switching between cameras.

 

I'm not there so I can't pull the model numbers. They also have... rs422? I believe it was.

What cameras?

 

Whats  the network setup? Id make a network for these cameras and their controller, and not shared with other devices..
