Ubuntu Installation Failing - Need Help

Hello there, recently I have been trying to migrate from Windows to Linux, I have tried to install Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Pop OS, openSUSE. But I keep coming across an error that I have spent 3+ days trying to fix with no luck. Attatched below is a picture of the error I am encountering. After this shows the device will freeze and stop responding completely. I have tried disabling Fast Boot, Secure Boot, TPM, Windows Fast Boot, Hibernation and many other things. Including following a lot of guids with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

System Specs:
Model: Acer Swift 3 SF314-41

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Mobile GFX, 2100Mhz, 4 Cores.

GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 8

RAM: 12GB DDR4 2400Mhz SODIMM

Networking: Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A

SSD: 512 GB NVMe SATA SSD - Kingston

Current OS: WIndows 11 Pro

When does this happen?

It happens when I boot into Ubuntu Live environment, with or without compatible mode and also in OEM mode.

are u sure it is freezing?

it does take time after that step

nothing immediately pointing out as to why it would freeze.

I have left it overnight and it was still stuck right there. Also the start job timer is frozen at 35s and does not advance any further.

Some similar issues on the ubuntu forum were solved by updating their bios to the latest version, maybe check if u have the latest bios revision.

Checking with Acer's Software page. I am running the latest supported BIOS for my system. BIOS Info: Insyde H20 Setup Utility v1.10

Hmm, seems that the issue has to do with usb. can ya try removing everything plugged in into a usb port?

Update: With DD mode on Rufus I managed to get another error alongside the usb error. Now reading:  [drm:amdgpu_init [amdgpu]] ERROR VGACON disables amdgpu kernel modesetting.

have a question about which Linux Mint version did you download?

Cinnamon or Cinnamon Edge? https://linuxmint.com/download_all.php

based on what I could find about the age of your computer, I would try the Edge version ( if you havent already )

it might fix the freezing as its meant for newer hardware...

however in saying that it might not get rid of the usb error, as i have that issue on my AMD FX 8320 with a gigabyte board... for some reason the booting process doesnt like certain bios/uefi  usb and/ or iommu  chip controllers...

it doesnt usually stop it from booting however, just might take a little longer

current main system: as of 1st Jan 2023

motherboard : Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

ram : 16Gig Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz

OS :multi-boot

Video Card : RX 550 4 GIG

Monitor: BENQ 21 inch
