Should I pay $500 for a 1660?

I have a pc that works and runs games relatively well because of my integrated graphics cpu (Ryzen 5 3400G). I only need a gpu now, and I was wondering if it is a good idea to pay double the price of a GTX 1660, or if I should wait until better cards become closer to their msrp and available.

If you're asking us (clearly not needing it that badly), the answer is no.

Even in this market I sure as heck wouldn't do that. You've got a decent* iGPU, so even though it may struggle with some things you'd still be better off just sticking with it for now. 

 

If you look hard you may be lucky enough to find a good deal. I found my GTX 1660 Ti at a flea market less than two months ago. It was brand new, and I only paid $75 for it. 

 

*Decent as in it's actually somewhat usable for games and such.

When 1660 Supers were $299, my friend was trying to talk himself out of buying one, even though they were supposed to be $249.  Now with just 1660's at $500?  Hell no.

1660 for 500 sounds even worse than a 3060ti for 800

honestly your internal graphics based system sounds fine. like another guy said in this conversation. while it may strugle u would be fine. i would wait to see if the prices go down enough to the point where u would get the chance to buy a gpu which would add performance to ur internal graphics and then pull the trigger
