SAS to SATA HDD convertor

Hai i got an SAS HDD model ( HUS724040ALS640 ) . Can i use this hdd with a SAS to SATA  convertor on a normal motherboard H81M-CS  .Any possibilities of compatibility issues ? kind advice and thankyou in advance .

SAS HDD will need a SAS controller.

For a SAS drive you would need to use a SAS controller. You're better off getting a normal SATA drive.

Im not sure if there are any external enclosures with a SAS controller on board.

However you look at it you need that controller to access the drive.

There used to be some solutions for external SAS, but they're all either discontinued or one-off items now so they're all hundreds of dollars. Your only decent solution if you want to use this drive is buying a PCIe SAS controller.
