Duplicating displays and GPU usage

My current card (GTX 1070) has a limit (according to the manufacturer) of 7680x4320.  I currently am running three monitors that add up to be a desktop of  of 4920x1920.  If I add a 4k monitor (3840 × 2160) will it work as a 4th display (expand my desktop) or is that limit the total of the whole work surface? My true intention is in to duplicate a 2560X1440 monitor onto  a 4k TV, but it might have to be at 1080 but it might be easior to put it as a dedicated display rather than duplicating the one I have.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...
