Question regarding ram speeds on AMD CPU and future upgrading

Rodark

I build my pc last year and it has a R5 3600 paired with a plain G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 at 3200mhz

I was thinking going at 32gb at some point(basically getting another 16gb of my ram), but since i dont reaaaally need 32gb now, i thought perhaps i should invest in better, faster and of course rgb ram

So i was looking at G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 at 4000mhz, which actually is way cheaper than i imagined.

a) will it automatically cap at 3200 for my cpu?

b) should i invest in 4000mhz with the planning that i upgrade my cpu in a year or two or leave ram alone and upgrade only when i get a better cpu?

(thinking getting that ram now, only because there will probably be a price drop for black Friday)

c)should i just wait for a cpu upgrade first? got a b450 gaming pro carbon ac which apparently supports ryzen 7 and 9 series(although i guess i would also need a psu upgrade)

You wont see much of an imporvment for the preformance with a bit more ram speed like that.  A 3600 also oftem will have issues with getting ram over 3600mhz. Also the motherboard only goes up to 3466mhz max

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

oh i didnt realize the motherboard also had a limit!, so unless i change mobo, even when i change my cpu, is to stick with 3200?

You might even be able to get the memory you have to that 3466 limit.

And if you change the cpu, your chances go up, ryzen 5000 mem controlers are much better
