LF best high quality CPU cooler for my Ryzen 5600X rebuild.

EnSabahNur

Hello. I am currently replacing the CPU with a Ryzen 5600X and mobo on an old Alienware A512-R2 x99 of mine and needed a new CPU cooler to replace the 1 fan radiator CPU liquid cooler that came stock with my case.

I think I might be limited to using an air CPU cooler due to the case exhaust grill only having an opening for a single fan radiator liquid cooling systems which don't seem to exist, thus, I wanted to get the opinion of experienced community members on what the very best single fan CPU coolers there are for a Ryzen 5600X?

Please post your vote (with link) for the best quality CPU cooler and an explanation why you'd go with it over the competition.

Thank you in advance for all the help :).

Why change coolers? What are you aiming to improve?

What kind of clearance is there height wise?

The case is quite large with over ~ 7 1/2" clearance.

Well...cooling...

Because I am replacing my old x99 board and my i7-5820, I don't think the old cooler will fit or sufficiently cool my new Ryzen 5600X

Well if you are looking for an air cooler I mean the Noctua NH-D15 is kinda the undisputed king. Its over kill for a 5600x but if you want the best retail air cooler out there youd be hard pressed to find anyone against the D15

I would buy a Thermalright FC140, it happily challenges a D15.

AMD R7 5800X3D | Thermalright Aqua Elite 360, 3x TL-B12, 2x TL-K12
Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z @ 3733C14
Zotac 4070 Ti Trinity OC @ 3045/1495 | WD SN850, SN850X
Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 | Fractal Torrent Compact, 2x TL-B14

Yeah, it sounds like Noctua really makes some fantastic air coolers. I notice you have an x570 mobo. Can I ask what your opinion is of choosing between a B550 vs X570 chipset mobo, as I am also getting a new mobo for my 5600X.

A 120mm AIO should be fine.
