Choosing parts for a server for two of my friends

Hello everyone,

Two of my friends are doing some projects (a console for a raspberry pi, a 2d game engine, and a 2d game from scratch without game engine) and they want to have a server for a website, forum, file transfer for cummunity made games, and maybe server side for their own multiplayer games. I didn't know which type of cpu (epyc, threadripper, ryzen) I had to choose so please help.

Tell them to save their money and get some shared hosting. It's enough for a website, forum and to offer some downloads.

For anything big download, they can put on Google Drive or make a torrent.

For multiplayer servers, they could rent an aws instance or pay 20-50$ a month on a dedicated server or VPS.

Thanks for the answer, I will tell them to do that.
