WD My Passport SSD 4TB stays at 44C

Zodler

I have got a WD My Passport SSD 4TB and the temperature even at idle stays at 44C, it's warm. Is this normal?

I have several Samsung T5 and T7s all 2TB and their temperature stay at 32C.

So why WD is running more than 10C hotter? Are the Samsung built better? Or is it because the WD SSD is 4TB? Samsung doesn't have small 4TB SSDs yet.

44c is normal. Some ssd may need higher temperature to perform optimally.

I always used Samsung portable SSDs and they are dead cold! That's why I got worried!

Any news if they (Samsung) are going to make 4TB capacity?
