S20+ Battery Severely Degrading after 2 years

When I first got this phone brand new it would last more than all day, would usually go into the next day with 30%+ battery

Now im lucky to get home before it dies, using less than I used to during the day, almost always charging it in my car on the way home.

 

Like id say this battery has fallen 20-40% in performance in just two years time, are lithium battery's really this bad? Or did samsung skimp on battery quality, this is the first year I have kept the same phone more than one generation, lol. (I always use the trade in program)

 

I keep it on normal resolution + 120hz, 60hz just feels slow now, but I have had it set to that since it came out

if your phone is running a bunch of programs and services that aren;t being closed constantly then yeah that would be expected.

from what i know of newer phones the software isn;t capable of closing or turning off a lot of power sucking apps so yeah just put a newer battery in it or a bigger battery.

that being said.... if your battery only lasted over a day when the phone was brand new thats actually not great battery life either. My phones battery is about 3.5 years old now but it lasts 2 days when the phone is idle.

I have a Samsung S20 5G. Try going to Settings > Battery and Device Care and tap "Optimize Now" to optimize the battery saving. My battery usually last 2+ days, but I'm not watching videos on it... because I'm not a teenager!
