Unable to partition for new m.2

I got an m.2 intel 660p for my pc and every time time i try to partition it I get this message and i restart but still get it. I've tried multiple things to fix it but have no luck anyone know anything?

It's either the drive causing disk management to crash or disk management is corrupted. Try another M.2 slot.

I switched the slot it was in and still get the same error

Then the drive may be at fault here. Will need to return for a exchange with another drive.

Very likely.... My last resort would be to boot into "raid" bios and see if you get a smart alarm or maybe it's just partitioned into older format.... Maybe if it was setup to run like legacy boot and not uefi then it's not working because it's not mbr not gpt.... This would be my last check (which also can be done through cmd prompt)

Also if disk management works without the drive plugged in, it is not corrupt...... (A hard drive corrupt or having had a smart event can cause disk management to crash or constantly become unresponsive) I've had this problem with an old windows 7 hard drive that died on one of the work computers.... and if you plugged it in, it cause disk management to crash also diskpart didn't work, if this is the case, I would advise the disk is truly corrupt and should require replacement (especially if new and under warranty)
