What is it with crappy picture quality and 1440p 144Hz monitors?

I have an LG 27UK650 right now but I was looking to get an upgrade to 144Hz, and I've gone through two XG27AQs before giving up on them, a Gigabyte G27Q, and an LG 27GN850-B, and they all look absolutely horrid compared to my old 4K60 monitor. Do they just bin the panels super low for so-called "gaming" monitors? I do take take into account that they are different resolutions, and even then. They just look bad overall.

Can't relate.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

I personally own a VG27AQ and had a 34UM95 before that. I wouldn't say the picture quality is any worse.

You might just be spoiled by the 4K resolution of your old panel. At 27" that of course looks exceptionally sharp compared to 1440p.
